Suffering is optional

There is a Buddhist saying
“Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.”

Life will bring us challenges and painful experiences, it’s part of living life as a human on planet earth, so yes, pain is inevitable.

But the way we perceive the challenges that come our way determines how long we stay in pain.  Suffering happens when we get stuck in a pain reaction.

Suffering is a choice.  There are healthy ways to get out of pain.  When you have the courage to confront pain and suffering, you are empowered to heal and move forward in a lighter way.

Freedom comes from the courage to confront and overcome suffering.

In today’s video I share about one of the most painful experiences in my life (the death of my brother), and three ways to move pain and transform suffering into peace, harmony, and loving acceptance.
